Problem Solving on Earth Workshop
In this workshop, SpacePort's newest, students
will work together in teams to solve a "space dilema". In
a hypothetical situation a team of astronauts have landed on titan,
one of Saturn's moons. Upon exitting of their spacecraft, they discover
damage to the outside of their craft.
The students job will be to decide whether or not to send a repair
mission out to help the stranded astronauts or to let them take their
chances coming home on their own. Students will represent different
delegates throughout these debates, such as astronauts, politicians
and civillians.
This activity is designed to allow students to see the social aspects
of space travel. They will see a short presentation outlining the history
of space disasters and problems.
